BYU Wind Symphony
We were blessed to be able to attend a concert of the BYU Wind Symphony in Tokyo. We went on the train with the four sister missionaries, three of their investigators, and several ward members.
The concert was wonderful and the audience loved it! I wish I'd saved the program and could share with you the pieces they played.... :-( But it was beautiful. A highlight was that the musicians sang a couple of numbers -- one was a piece in Latin, and the other was the final encore, a beautiful prayer entitled "Go Ye Now in Peace." The announcer read the words in English and Japanese, and then the performers sang it in English, repeating the last two lines in Japanese: "Go ye now in peace, go ye now in peace." What a treat to have been there -- a great spirit and a great missionary tool.
Go ye now in peace.
Go ye now in peace -- and know that the love of God will guide you.
Feel his presence here beside you, showing you the way.
In your time of trouble, when hurt and despair are there to grieve you,
Know that the Lord will never leave you. He will bring you courage.
Know that the God who sent His Son to die that you might live
Will never leave you lost and alone in His beloved world.
Go ye now in peace.
Go ye now in peace.
