Saturday, May 2, 2015 was the first convert baptism we witnessed in Japan. The young man being baptized is from Nepal, he's in his early 20's, and the elders have been teaching him for a few months. He lives with his parents, who are not members, but who are very supportive and the elders are hopeful that they will be able to continue to teach the family.
Not the best background for a picture, but doesn't it seem somehow fitting that the young man who was baptized is standing in the center of the light coming in from the window?
And here he is with Elder Loi-On and Elder Pena.
I played the organ for the baptism. I'm so grateful I can read music in any language!
