Lunch at Chili's on the base with our district and an investigator couple. Only four of these missionaries serve on the base regularly, but this was a special occasion -- transfers are this week and some of them are leaving, so this was a farewell lunch of sorts. Looks like they love American food!
Sure love these sisters -- one of them is a ward member who came to help sign the missionaries onto the base. Sister Toshida, in the white turtleneck, is going home to Mexico this week -- we'll miss her! Sister Obeyashi is being transferred to a new area and the other two sisters will be trainers -- we'll have brand new sisters for them to work with!

I bet it's so interesting to be in Japan and yet have so many American things accessible so closed you! What is the process for clearing new missionaries to serve on base? Do they get special ID's, how do they get on/off the base? Interesting aspects that I've never thought of before.
