Creative Car Parking

I want to share with you our parking arrangement, because it's pretty fun. Our garage is a metal rack, four cars high and five across. It holds 17 cars rather than 20, because it's an elevator system and three empty spaces are needed to move vehicles up, down, and/or over. There are three structures like this for our apartment building.

So here's a series of videos showing how this works.

That is how we put our car to bed every night -- we have to allow about ten minutes to take it out or park it. Did you notice Bruce waving at you by wiggling the outside mirrors?

And here's what the parking garage looks like from the roof of the building. Pretty ingenious!

I love the car parking! Hmmm! Could we do that to park our 3 vehicles so one wouldn't be parked in the driveway. Maybe the flatbed trailer and the horse trailer too!

Mitt Romney has one of those for his home in California. Maybe Bruce could put one in for President's Day parking!

That's so crazy - I guess when space is at a premium you come up with all kinds of things to save it. :) But 10 minutes just to get to your car? I'm already hopelessly late to everything!

Tara - I agree. Easy in and out of the garage is the luxury that I would prefer! Every minute counts when little kids are involved!! Sheesh - can you imagine rusting a busy toddler while waiting?! :) although Logan thought this was the coolest thing ever ...
