Sushi!

Sisters Jolley and Bybee, sister missionaries assigned to Fussa, have a pretty large area to cover -- on bicycles. It often is just not efficient for them to go back to their apartment for meals, so they've scouted out a few places they like to eat in between appointments. They invited us to meet them at this sushi restaurant --

Couldn't tell you the name of the restaurant, but we knew where to go "IN". This is a conveyor belt restaurant with amazing sushi offerings.

Here's Sister Bybee, ordering for our table.

And here's Bruce, enjoying the food and the experience. You can take plates off the conveyor belt unless they're on a raised platform, that means they're special orders. The screen lets you know when your own special orders are on their way. All kinds of sushi -- chicken, shrimp, salmon, octopus, veggies we'd never heard of, and a few other choices, like sweet potato fries and even some desserts. The cost was 100 yen (JPY100) per plate and when you're finished you stack your plates, signal a server who comes over and with a ruler-type stick measures the height of your stack and writes up your bill. Oh, and there's no tipping in Japan. Bruce and I each had seven plates, so for JPY1400 we both had a wonderful meal -- about $11.38.

The shrimp was my favorite!!
