Well, Bruce turned it into this --
And it's on its way to Salt Lake City to Sister Jolley's home. A ward member was kind enough to ship it for her from the post office on base, and it still cost more to ship than it cost to buy. But she was thrilled, hope it gets there safely!
Bruce has also spent a little time in the hobby shop with a ward member, helping him build a bench for his entry (to sit on to remove your shoes, with storage for said shoes underneath). Bruce has lamented that he's losing all the callouses on his hands, saying that they are "as soft as a baby's bottom." The needle in his wallet for removing slivers is just not getting any use at all these days! So he's happy when a service project or two comes his way!
