I've been tagged!

Okay, Angela................
Ten years ago we were living in Lacey, Washington. I actually dug up some old family newsletters to help me fill this in -- fun for me, but you may get more information than you wanted! Here goes: Bruce was insanely busy with his job at the Washington National Guard State Headquarters and serving as bishop. But we had taken a week in January to visit Grandma and Grandpa in Rupert, delivering and refinishing the piano -- taking Scott and Kendra with us, leaving the older girls at home. On the drive home, on I-5 North of Portland, we were sideswiped by a hit-and-run driver, totalling the old '85 Plymouth Voyager. Fortunately, we were able to get the guy's license number and let his insurance cover it, quite an adventure. Bruce resurrected the totalled car (of course) and I continued to drive it until, ironically, I had another hit-and-run accident in December of the same year. This was in Lacey on snow-packed and icy roads -- I couldn't catch up with this guy, hence the demise of the old Voyager!

David was on his mission in Ecuador and shared a very funny story about helping a Church member transport a pig in a taxi. Maybe he'll share further details on his blog. Tara and Mindy participated in the piano festival at the University of Puget Sound and apparently both did very well. Tara was gearing up for high school graduation and trying to figure out what would follow it. Mindy was the proud possessor of a learner's permit, which she used at every opportunity. They both participated in the school musical "The Secret Garden" that spring. Heather was big into volleyball and soccer at that time in her life. She also got her picture in the paper dissecting a cow's eye in her science class. Scott took second place in the Pinewood Derby and won "best-looking car." (Mindy had painted flames on the hood.) Kendra was 3 and was little Miss Perpetual Motion. A college student in our ward who was home for a visit (Andrea Steinacker, fyi) asked me if I chased her up and down the aisles during every sacrament meeting, or just when she (Andrea) was there. I didn't think it was very funny.

What was I, personally, doing ten years ago? I have no idea -- I didn't put that in the newsletters! Apparently I was chasing kids and wrecking cars!

Five things on my to do list today: Prepare Primary sharing time (this could be about a dozen things in and of itself), present Primary sharing time, make dinner, clean-up after, take a nap. I have at this point accomplished three out of the five -- the kitchen's still a mess and my nap is waiting...............

If I became a billionaire: I would build a house large enough to accommodate all my children and their spouses and children at the same time -- not to mention the Presidents' Day crowd. It wouldn't have to be elaborate, just roomy! (Not great, just spacious -- is that okay?) I would give Bruce the opportunity to travel to all the places he wants to go, and sometimes (not always) I would go with him. But I would visit Columbus, MS; Overland Park, KS; Federal Way, WA; and Columbus, OH anytime I wanted! I would make large donations to cancer, diabetes, and multiple sclerosis research, and LDS Humanitarian Services and the Perpetual Education Fund. And BYU and LDS Business College. I'm sure I'll think of others as soon as I get the money.......

Three bad habits: Procrastination. I'll post the other two later.

Places I have lived: Burley, Idaho. Rupert, Idaho. Salt Lake City, UT. Burke, Virginia. Olympia, Washington. Logan, Utah.

Jobs I've had: Janitor at Rupert Bowl. Carhop at A&W. Bakery at Foodland. Secretary at LDS Church Office Building and at Mutual of New York (Salt Lake agency). Piano teaching, day care, piano teaching, working rush week at USU Bookstore, and more piano teaching. Mostly being a wife and mother, which pays the best and is the most important.

Things most people don't know about me: What I was doing in January of 1998.

Okay, I'm tagging David, Mindy, Julie Burgess, and Ericka Cooper -- you're it!

That was really fun to read! If you want, I can just ask Dave to go to pick you up in the airplane I'd give him if I was rich :)
I'm loving this game! Thanks for letting me tag you! I'm excited to see you soon! Five more weeks before graduation...
Love you!
(I missed a word so I deleted the comment up there)

The procrastination comment is hilarious. I'm going to use that line, someday.

Holy cow ... talk about trip down memory lane! I totally remember getting hit in the voyager and I (sadly) had taken off my seatbelt momentarily which happened to be right before we were hit (at least I hope it wasn't off the whole time!)! I remember falling against the side door, and you immediately started asking me all sorts of "are you okay" questions. Only after I assured you that I was did you speed off trying to catch the guy. The punk ...

Mom, that was great - can you believe it's been 10 years since 1998?!
I'll get around to my tag soon... apparently procrastination is genetic (can I really use that as an excuse??)
I love you!
